Dues Due
Treasurer Kevin Welsh has sent the HOA
dues notices to homeowners. Payment is due by January
1, 2019. If your notice fails to arrive this
week, give Kevin a call at 231-838-6851 or
e-mail him at welsh.kj@gmail.com. Also
included with the dues notice is the Owner Information
and HUD Compliance Form. It is important that the HOA
receives this document. Please complete every relevant
item even if it is the same as the information you gave
last year.
Support Hot Desert
The Hot Desert Landscaping crew, headed by Renye, is
always friendly and helpful. They do a great job of
keeping our neighborhood looking good, and they
frequently do extra things above and beyond the call of
duty. For the past few years we have taken a collection
for a Christmas gratuity to show our appreciation for
all of their efforts. We'd like to continue the
tradition this year. If you would like to make a
contribution, you can do so at the next Happy Hour,
Hospitality event or by calling Jane Ellingson at 520-625-7782.
Wednesday Night Movie at the Ramada
This week's movie is The Pink Panther starring
Steve Martin. Bumbling Inspector Clouseau must solve the
murder of a famous soccer coach and find out who stole
the infamous Pink Panther diamond. Showtime is 7:00
PM. Thanks to Jane and Eric Ellingson for
sponsoring this event.
Esperanza Craft Sale a Success
Saturday's Fourth Annual EE Craft sale brought
crafters, lookers and buyers from the surrounding area
to the Ramada. Everything from A to V (Artwork to
Vests) was displayed and appreciated. Thanks to Marla
Ries for organizing the event and to all the
talented participants.
Festive Lamp Posts
EE's lovely tradition of decorating street
light posts for the holiday season is underway. Don't
have the time to decorate yours? Out of town? The
Enhancement Elves will decorate (and undecorate) your
post for just $10 if you already have the decorations,
$15 if you don't. A plug adapter is an additional
$2.00. Deadline for requesting this service is December
6. To schedule, contact Jackie Rautio
at 269-7864.
Hospitality Committee Event Features Fun and Games
Start the holiday season at the Sweet and Savory Holiday
Celebration Saturday, December 15th. Social hour
begins at 4:30 PM with food to follow
at 5:00. Wine, beer, water, soda, and Southern Comfort
Punch will be available. No charge for this event.
(Happy Hour on December 14 is cancelled in light of the
Hospitality event.) Even addresses should bring
appetizers and odd addresses desserts. Prizes will be
awarded for the ugliest Christmas sweater/shirt. A gift
basket raffle will raise funds for the committee. Bring
a "white elephant" gift to participate in the optional gift
exchange.
Your gift should be a small, useful item in good
condition that you have around the house that you
just don't need anymore. Please no broken or throw
away items. Or purchase something inexpensive (under
$5). Please wrap the gift.
Book Discussion Group--Just a Menu to Read This Time
The Book Discussion Group will go to lunch at Firefly in
Amado on Friday, December 14, so there is no book
for December. Please call Linda Sielken
(908-240-1887) by December 10 if you
plan on attending.
Cool Weather--Low Tire Pressure?
You've already covered your pipes, pulled out those
frost cloths, and dug out that turtleneck. You might
want to check your vehicle's tire pressure. With the
proper tire pressure (listed on that little sticker on
the driver's door) tires last longer, driving is safer
AND the air is cleaner.
New Phone Number?
If your phone number has changed since last year's
EE Name & Address Directory was published, please send
your new number to Cheri Day (thedays007@aol.com)
by Dec. 15. New directories will be for
sale at the EEHOA annual meeting in January.
Attention Neighborhood Watch Block Captains
It's that time of the year again when we check with our
EE neighbors for updates for the Esperanza Estates
Directory for 2019. Please return any updates to
Neighborhood Watch Chairperson, Karen White.
by December 15. If you have not
received your sheets call Karen at (520)648-3993. If
you've recently returned to Green Valley, or will be
returning from being out of town, please leave a
voicemail for Karen and provide your estimated date of
return, so that she can get the sheet to you. There
will be a meeting of Neighborhood Watch Block Captains
and potential Block Captains at the Ramada on Friday,
December 14, at 12:45 PM. SAV will be giving a
short presentation followed by discussion.
EE Pickleball
Play starts at 8:30 AM every day except
Fridays at the courts on Circulo del Sur. Everyone from
EE is welcome to play, no matter your skill level. Greg
Gramstad will be happy to help you if you need
instruction.
Helpful Hints for HOA Happiness
The Board is aware that not everyone reads and
understands EE's CC&Rs and Rules, so they have asked the
Monday Morning Memo to include reminders of issues that
often occur, disrupting the peace and harmony of our
community. We are paraphrasing and abbreviating the
CC&Rs and Rules, so if an item applies to you, read the
full applicable section of the CC&Rs or Rules or call a
Board member for clarification. Here's this week's
hint: You are responsible for preventing your pet
from being a nuisance. For example, if your dog barks
for long periods of time when it's outside, bring it
in. 'Barking dog' is one of the top complaints to our
neighborhood relations committee.
